Cargo securing in container:
standard-compliant, exactly fitting, certified

To ensure that your goods arrive safely, we have developed application-oriented restraining systems for securing loads in ISO containers.

By road, rail or sea: every part of our systems is certified for intermodal load securing.

Regardless of whether your goods are packed in drums, IBCs, BigBags or otherwise, our cargo securement consultants offer you the perfect fit cargo securing.

In addition to individual consulting, our services also include the creation of specific loading instructions and the training of your employees.

All HLash & Rainer systems offered are compliant with current standards and regulations:

  • Internationally: CTU – Code of Practice
  • Regional Regulation and Guidelines: DIN EN 12195, VDI 2700 ff., UIC – Loading Guideline (3rd edition), Intermodal Loading Guide of the AAR/TTCI, North American Cargo Securement Standard.

Our Cargo Securement Consultants are looking forward to supporting you in choosing the best suited cargo securing solution.

Our cargo securing products specially designed for your particular application

When calculating the optimum restraint system for a loading situation, the prevailing assumption is that all container eyelets used by the cargo securing system carry the maximum load. Trials at our test site with our 0µ sled have shown that the use of uniform webbings leads to overloading of a few container eyelets, while other container eyelets have shown to absorb significantly less force.

With our CRS Vario and CRS Systems, for the first time all webbings can absorb the acting forces evenly. Shorter webbings transfer overloads evenly to longer webbings. All webbings are guided to the load limits simultaneously. As a result, our CRS Vario and CRS Systems can be loaded up to 60 % higher than conventional systems, using the same amount of material.

This reflects the many years of experience and the worldwide unique testing options of HLash & Rainer. All results from the test series on our cargo securing testing facility have been incorporated in the development of our CRS Vario and CRS Systems:

  • container tipping test area
  • rail track
  • 0µ sled

For more flexibility and to meet the different loading situations of our customers we offer our systems as CRS Vario and CRS for recurring shipments.

For transports to the USA our RHS 10.4v1+ Rail Edition is available; AAR approved (non-hazmat) since 2019.

The basis of our cargo securing systems is our Container Lashing CL for light cargo ≤ 8 t. Since its introduction in 2001, it remains the fastest solution for “lightweights”.

Ekman²

The Ekman² is our new two-piece buckle.

Advantages:

  • Faster: when using our systems, e.g. in the circular economy.
  • Process cost-optimizing: pre-threaded, thus eliminating this step during loading.
  • Easier: Simple opening and closing. Safety traps prevent unintentional opening of the buckle.
  • Loadable: up to 3 t.

Our B-buckle

As standard, our container restraining systems are equipped with our B-buckles as connectors.

You can find step-by-step instructions on how to correctly thread the webbing into the B-buckle here.

Additional Securing Equipment

HLash & Rainer GmbH regards itself as a full-service provider.

Not only do we develop the ideal cargo securing system for your goods in a container.

Our customers receive a comprehensive cargo securing solution, including a detailed tailor-made loading instruction.

The securing equipment additionally recommended by our cargo securement engineers like e.g. unit load securement, dunnage bags, blocking lattice, corner protection or non-slip materials complement our product range.

Safety is highly important for every loading process, as is the time factor.

All offered securing equipment and ergonomic tools are tried and tested and support process cost optimization during the loading process.

Service

Cargo Securement Consulting

Load Securement Consulting

Our customers receive a comprehensive cargo securement solution.

A few steps to safely secure your cargo in a container:

  1. Initial consultation with our Cargo Securement Consultants to discuss the assignment.
  2. On-site (worldwide) situation analysis of current cargo securement and loading process.
  3. Development of a tailor-made cargo securing solution for container transport in consideration of additional securing equipment. Possibility to run trials on our inhouse load securement testing facility.
  4. Presentation of a detailed report, including a well-arranged set of loading recommendations.
  5. Offer to train your employees in the handling of our specific cargo securement solution. Training can take place in German, English, Spanish as well as other languages.

Each of these steps can be carried out worldwide, both at the direct customer and at the recipient of the containers.

Loading Recommendations

HLash Verladeanweisung

At the end of our cargo securement consultation, we calculate the exact configuration of the proposed cargo restraining system.

Attached to our detailed report, subject to all current regulations, you will receive a clearly structured loading recommendation.

The loading recommendation clearly states where to place the unit loads. It also proposes additional securing equipment that should be used to obtain e.g. ideal form lock.

Certifications

Zertifikate Ladungssicherung

When submitting our restraining systems to a recognized certification process, our main emphasis is on their applicability in combination with your goods.

A tailor-made HLash & Rainer cargo securing concept always takes characteristics and specifications of the packaging into account. During certifications we therefore preferably test our restraining systems with proper goods from customers (or adequate substitute materials).

We collaborate with recognized, independent testing institutes for all of our certification processes.

Testing Facility

On our company premises we test our container restraining systems as well as the complete cargo securing under real conditions.

Main testing stations at our disposal are:

  • road braking tests up to 0.8g towards container doors
  • rail impact tests based on UIC and AAR specifications
  • 0µ-cargo sled to test restraining systems under consistent conditions
  • container tipping test area
  • fully secured container handling simulation with our reach stacker
  • mobile horizontal impact test stand for unit loads
  • mobile tilt-angle test stand for unit loads, DIN EN 12195

During the driving tests on truck and rail as well as during tipping, we record live all data necessary for the development and evaluation of a cargo securing system: g-values, elongation values, loads on the webbing or the lashing eyelets, shifting of the goods, and much more.

The testing facility is also used to prepare upcoming certifications and to test third-party container shipments. This option is open to all our customers giving us the chance to continuously enhance our methods and devices. We are looking forward to testing your ideas of cargo securing!
